It all started 17 years ago when we were totally stressed out planning our own wedding.
We knew there had to be a simpler way that allowed couples to enjoy the process instead of wanting to rip your hair out!
We have done just that by creating what we believe all couples are looking for: one stop shopping with a beautiful setting that will wow your guests for years to come.
Seventeen years ago we wanted an outdoor wedding, we thought it would be simple - it was anything but simple! The amount of things that we had to remember to rent was absurd.
Garbage cans, would you even think to rent a garbage can?!?! I know we didn’t. Plates, cutlery, water glasses, wine glasses, the wine and the water to go in those glasses, tables, chairs, table numbers and a guest book. Oh my gosh, we forgot to buy a guest book! Frantically running around a mere hours before we were supposed to walk down the aisle!
We don’t want this for you, we want you sipping mimosas on your big day, getting beautified and 100% worry free!
We felt relieved when the day was finally over ... who wants that?! Our goal is to take the stress off of you so you can thoroughly enjoy your big day, the way it should be enjoyed.
We are your wedding planner and your day-of coordinator. We book all the vendors and we even do all of the decorating. One stop shopping at its very best.
We have successfully curated over 100 luxury barn weddings and and are here to make your dreams a reality.

Mark Slater

Mark, a talented musician of a well known local band has always had a love for the entertainment business. Whether the focus is on stage or hosting a gathering, he always puts on a good show!
WIth a great eye for design Mark always dreamed of owning and operating his own wedding venue. WIth a lot of time and effort that dream has become a reality.
Through his music career Mark has played hundreds of weddings. Along the way he listened to the couples talk about their stressors of planning a wedding. He knew there had to be a simpler way and he created just that at The Rustic Ranch.
This venue is his baby and he puts his heart and soul into each and every wedding.
Crystal Slater

From a young age, Crystal had a passion for creating things. Under her grade 8 graduation photo her dream job was a florist or interior decorator.
Though she joined her family business out of college, she could always be found creating something in her downtime. Whether it be watercolour painting, crocheting, sewing, embroidering or creating a DIY, she dreamed of someday being able to showcase her talents.
When Mark presented the idea of a wedding venue, she was excited at the opportunity to put all her knowledge to work. Flash forward to the present day, she has fully planned and decorated over 100 weddings and events and loving every minute of it!
Mark and Crystal have been married for 17 years, they have 3 children ages 22, 16 and 11.
Emily Swackhammer

As the business grew at The Rustic Ranch, Crystal was needing an assistant to help both behind the scenes and at the barn. Crystal was lucky enough to find Emily and it's been a godsend!
Emily is a highly respected Child and Youth worker with CSCProvidence (the French Catholic school board), and she has mentored hundreds of children and young adults through her work.
Her bubbly personality and dedication makes her a perfect addition to any team. She is an extremely hard worker and always willing to lend a helping hand.
While having the summers off Emily was looking for something to fill her time and The Rustic Ranch couldn’t be luckier.
When she isn’t assisting Crystal with pre-wedding prep, Emily can be found behind the bar at each and every wedding serving up some special drinks and making new friends along the way.

Just mail your invitations and buy the dress.
We work directly with our couples to create the wedding of their dreams. When I say we do everything for you, we mean everything.
With other venues, you’ll have to deal with the venues, caterer, DJ, and Officiant separately, all by yourself. Or you can hire a wedding planner to help. Not here! We take care of all of it for you.
